My Memories with Coca-Cola

My Memories with Coca-Cola

As I think back to when I was a little girl I have a huge smile on my face, those were the good ole days!! Every morning in the summer my sister and I would wake up super early to get dressed and eat breakfast so we could head out to the neighborhood park for the day.It was our summer routine since school would be closed. We would save up our $1 allowance every week so on our way to the park we would stop at the gas station to purchase Coca-Cola glass bottles.Everything in those days was alot cheaper so $1 took us a long way!.In the freezer the Coca-Cola soda's would be all stocked up nice in order,my sister and I always reached for the last 2 in the back because we knew they would be the coldest.Of course we didn't let the cashier see us!!  It would be beaming hot outside and so humid that our thirst would kick in for our Coca-Cola's as soon as our hands touched the bottles. Our little faces would be so flushed red from the heat, our flip-flops flopping was the only sound in the store. We could barely reach the freezer shelf for the Coca-Cola bottles so we would stand on a bread crate. It worked for many weeks intill one morning I went to stand on the crate and my flip-flop got stuck in one of the openings on the crate,I slipped and fell down on the floor so hard with my summer dress flying up in the air.My sister laughed so hard at me and couldn't stop.I was so embarrassed. The cashier came to my rescue by helping me up and to my surprise he gave us each a free Coca-Cola bottle that day!The following day the cashier asked me if I'm ok from my fall and he let me know how he always knew my sister and I stood on those crates to reach for our drinks. My face was so red!Of course I never entered that gas station again. My sister and I walked an extra 2 blocks to another store for our Coca-Cola every morning. It was so worth it!

Do you have any special memories about Coca-Cola that you would like to share?
