As a Parent I worry about the safety of my kids as any other Parent would.Unfortunately, anything could happen while traveling on the road. It's very important to be prepared the best way you can in case of an accident.I want to share my 10 tips with you about how to keep your family safe on the road.I hope they will help someone out. Please share some of your tips as well, let's get these tips out even if they will help at least one person.

Did you know that Safelite AutoGlass saves approximately 35,000 tons of CO2 during windshield production each year, enough to fill the Empire State Building approximately 19 times. In addition, it saves the number of damaged windshields being sent to the landfill by approximately 12,500 tons annually.

  1. Before you travel a long distance always get a safety service on your vehicle.Safelite is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to schedule auto glass service. With mobile service, they will come out to your car.
  2. Forget do-it-yourself repair kits. The resin could easily shrink or yellow, lowering the quality of the repair. Safelite AutoGlass uses a patented repair process… A vacuum is created over the damaged area and the resin penetrates and fills the finest micro-cracks. The technician pulls off the vacuum changer and the UV light hardens the resin. Safelite’s resin is proven to be the strongest and longest lasting on the market
  3. Always keep a first-aid kit in your vehicle glove box or some place everyone knows where to find it.Keep the necessary equipment and tools in case of a flat tire.Any liquids that may be needed such as windshield fluid, oil, ect
  4. Check the weather report for your area and your destination before your planned trip to prevent any driving in bad conditions such as sleet ,snow, ice and rain.Even with new tires accidents could occur.
  5. Keep a membership with a roadside service in case your keys get locked in or lost, even if you need towing. Most memberships include 24hour service.
  6. Stick to the speed limit, speeding can be result in an accident and a speeding ticket.Always stop at the stop signs and never, ever run a red light.
  7. Keep your eye on the road at all times.Don't mess around with cell phones, ipods or things that will distract you.If you have kids in the car maybe you can take another adult along to help keep an eye on the kids while your eye is on the road.
  8. Make sure your car has a full tank of gas and know where gas stations are located while on the road. You can map request their locations before your trip.Keep a gas can as well.
  9. If you take medication always read the bottle to see if it's safe to drive when taking the meds. Some medicine can make you very drowsy and fall asleep.
  10. Keep your child proof locks on the car doors, make sure the seat belts are all secure and working.
I hope these tips help, please feel free to comment with some of your tips as well! We can never be to safe!
