Playing Out Doors With My Family

As a Mother my kids mean the world to me.I wish they can be "kids" the rest of their lives,but the truth is kids grow into adults very quickly.It's so fun to see the smiles on their faces when we get together as a family and play.Their imaginations are so amazing and run wild.I want to make sure my children will keep these fun memories to think about and tell stories about when their older and have children of their own one day.Just the little things like going out into our backyard digging for different color stones is so fun for us,they love when I wet them down in the summer with the hose.
I can remember when my children's faces lit up the first time we put a kite together in the schools big field.As it went up into the air our puppy jumped for joy.We ran together as the kite flew higher,laughing so hard chasing it.Of course my kids ran faster then me but that day I did keep up!! We packed a little picnic basket with fruit and spring water to enjoy once we were done flying the kite.The grass was so green and beautiful that day it was easy to just throw down a sheet to sit on to eat.Taking pictures was a blast!! We all made funny faces with each picture and giggled until our belly's hurt.
Every weekend I make sure we do something fun.It doesn't have to cost a penny.We have a park up the street to play in,we ride bikes together or do crafts.We never run out of things to do.Even setting up our own games with the sidewalk chalk is fun.The memories are for a lifetime!

The Worldwide Day of Play is the centerpiece of Nickelodeon's The Big Help, a program to empower kids and families to make healthy lifestyle choices every day.
